The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating a double fatal shooting that occurred on Monday, May 18, 2026.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello, shortly after 1 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of shots fired in the area of 109-111 Old Bergen Road. Responding officers located two unresponsive males inside a residence with apparent gunshot wounds. Both men were transported to Jersey City Medical Center where they were pronounced dead. The victims’ identities are being withheld pending notification to their next of kin.
The victims have been identified as 53-year old Luis Quintero and 52-year old Kenneth Darby. Both victims lived in Jersey City.
This matter is actively being investigated by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department. No arrests have been made at this time.
