With the start of classes just two weeks away, incoming 7th graders at Union City’s Union Hill Middle School learned all about the policies and procedures of their new school during an orientation session held on Thursday.

The students, who return to the classroom on September 10th, were told about the dress code, when and how they must sign in when arriving at school, and a whole lot more.  They met the school’s administration, including principal Michael Abbato.

The main purpose of the orientation was to make the students feel comfortable with their new surroundings.  After all, they have left their elementary school building and will be learning in a new environment for the next two years.

Approximately 270 7th graders will be enrolled at Union Hill Middle School during the ’26-’27 academic year.  That total is about 80 students less than last year due to students attending the Esther Salas Academy.
