24 people, 48 charges: Secaucus August file at the Prosecutor's Office

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office complaint export for August 2026 lists 24 people charged in Secaucus across 48 charge lines. The records, obtained under OPRA, cover Aug. 1 through Aug. 31. They are accusations, not findings of guilt.

Of the complaints filed, 18 remain in screening — meaning prosecutors have not finished charging review — while six were closed at the initial stage and two have advanced to trial.

No homicides or sexual offenses appear in the Secaucus file for this period. The most serious charges involve criminal restraint with risk of serious bodily injury, robbery, and aggravated assault by strangulation. Shoplifting was the single most common charge, accounting for nine charge lines against eight people.

Most serious complaints

Luis E. Hernandezaguilar, Cliffside Park, was charged on Aug. 29 with robbery causing bodily injury. The complaint is in screening.

Marcelino Berrios, Secaucus, was charged on Aug. 15 with aggravated assault by strangulation in a domestic violence context, criminal restraint with risk of serious bodily injury, and simple assault. Screening.

Richard B. Luxmore, Bellmore, N.Y., was charged on Aug. 29 with aggravated assault by strangulation, criminal restraint with risk of serious bodily injury, simple assault, and two prescription drug counts. Screening.

Estiven A. Rodriguez-Castillo, East Orange, was charged on Aug. 20 with theft of services, resisting arrest, prohibited weapons or devices, obstruction, criminal trespass, and interfering with transportation. Screening.

Sebastien P. Larrea, Texas, was charged on Aug. 7 with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Screening.

Shoplifting and theft

Eight people were charged with shoplifting in nine separate charge lines during August, making it the most frequent offense in Secaucus for the period. Three people were charged with receiving stolen property and three others with theft of services or theft of lost property. Two shoplifting complaints included conspiracy charges, suggesting coordinated activity.
