Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella has announced the arrest of 63-year-old Victor A. Fujimoto Diaz of Kearny on charges of criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Jeff Angermeyer, and the North Arlington Police Department, under the direction of Chief Michael Horton.
On Monday, August 31, 2026, the New Jersey Division of Child Protection & Permanency contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding alleged sexual contact with a juvenile that had occurred in the past in North Arlington. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the North Arlington Police Department revealed that Fujimoto Diaz engaged in sexual activity with a juvenile in August 2026.
As a result of the investigation, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, Diaz was arrested in North Arlington and charged with third-degree endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact. Fujimoto Diaz was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Prosecutor Musella would like to thank the North Arlington Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
