North Bergen Dedicates Main Library to Director Sai Rao

North Bergen dedicated the renovated Public Library on Bergenline Avenue to longtime Director Sai Rao during a ceremony on Wednesday.  The event attracted hundreds of people, including many library officials from around New Jersey.

Rao has been the Executive Director of the North Bergen Library for 35 years.  During that time she has transformed the facility into a destination point for the community, providing all kinds of programs for both children and adults, including health care treatments in partnership with the township’s Health Department.

The library, which had been closed for several months while extensive renovations were done, It is now a state of the art facility.

North Bergen Mayor Nicholas Sacco said when he interviewed Rao for the Director’s position, she was an unknown.  He took a chance on her, hoping she would “work out.”  Well, three and a half decades following that. interview, it is quire obvious, Sai Rao has certainly “worked out.”

The Sai Rao Public Library of North Bergen is the hub of the community.

Congratulations to Rao for all of her achievements over the decades in making North Bergen’s library one of the best in the entire state of New Jersey.
