UPDATE: Active Fire In Hoboken

12 Noon Update:  Hoboken Public Safety Director Ken Ferrante tweeted that due to the fast work of the Hoboken Fire Department this morning, the fire at Washington and 4th Streets was knocked down with no reported injuries to civilians or first responders according to Chief Peskens.

The City of Hoboken’s Office of Emergency Management asks people to avoid the area of Washington Street between Third Street and Fifth Street due to an active fire.

The Hoboken Fire Department is on the scene.

Washington Street is closed to vehicular traffic between Third Street and Fifth Street. Buses will be running on a diverted route north on Bloomfield Street between Observer and 11th Street and south on Hudson Street between 11th Street and Observer Highway.
