Fiscalía presentó cargos adicionales contra dos acusados en la investigación de drogas de Baiona

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has announced that additional charges have been filed against two defendants in connection with a Bayonne narcotics investigation.

29-year old Giovanny Alfaro and 23-year old Jamie Juarez, both of Bayonne, are now charged with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine; possession with the intent to distribute cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school; possession with the intent to distribute cocaine within 500 feet of public property;  possession with the intent to distribute marijuana; possession with the intent to distribute marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school; possession with the intent to distribute marijuana within 500 feet of public property in; possession of drug paraphernalia; two counts of possession with the intent to distribute Oxycodone; possession with the intent to distribute Oxycodone within 1,000 feet of a school; and possession with the intent to distribute Oxycodone within 500 Feet of public property.

The two defendants were previously arrested on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, after numerous transactions were conducted with an undercover officer, which included the sale of illegal narcotics and an illegal firearm. Prosecutor Suarez says the additional charges were filed after a court-authorized search of vehicles seized at the time of defendants’ initial arrests.

During that search, additional quantities of cocaine, marijuana, and Oxycodone were recovered.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force and the Bayonne Police Department with the investigation and arrests. The above charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
