On Monday, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of 33-year old, Lyndhurst resident Donald Kumar Davis on charges of aggravated, criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child.

Formerly a resident of Nutley, the single, strength and speed coach was arrested following an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Wyckoff Police Department.

A press release from the Prosecutor’s Office states, “As previously reported, on December 13, 2023, the Washington Township Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Washington Township Police Department revealed that Donald Kumar Davis sexually assaulted the child in Washington Township, NJ on two occasions and in Wyckoff, NJ on one occasion.  On December 19, 2023, Donald Kumar Davis was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and two counts of third- degree aggravated criminal sexual contact.”

However, the investigation continued and revealed there was a second victim.  This resulted in Davis being charged with an additional count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and two additional counts of third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact.

Yesterday, Sunday, March 3, Davis was arrested in Hackensack.  He is being held in the  Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.

Davis is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
