Amtrak Train Hits Person On Tracks At Secaucus Junction

NJ Transit trains were running on a two hour delay this evening after an Amtrak train hit a person on the track near the Lautenberg Secaucus Transfer Station at approximately 5 o’clock this afternoon.

The incident caused NJ Transit trains to be delayed in both directions, to and from New York City’s Penn Station.  The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.

Rail service was resumed at 6 pm.

NJ Transit rail passengers’ tickets and passes were being cross-honored on NJ Transit buses and PATH trains at Newark Penn Station, Hoboken and 33rd Street according to NJ Transit.

There was no word on the condition of the person hit.
