Just under 40 were vaccinated between 5 and 8 pm on Monday evening during a vaccination drive held at the Anna L. Klein School in Guttenberg as students, parents, and faculty get ready for the start of the new school year and a return to in-person learning.
“The vaccination [is] the number one health strategy to combat Covid-19 and to help our community remain safe as we bring our students back September 9thand we are very much looking forward to having our students back with us,” said Principal Keith Petry. “We’re expecting full on-site in-person learning, with no remote option… it was a very difficult year [for] our learning community and we are very excited to get our students back with us.”
Those who received a dose of the vaccine on Monday night also received tickets with which bids could be made on items such as hoverboards, Razor scooters, and a Playstation 4.
The clinic was originally set to take place in the parking lot outside but was moved indoors due to rain.
