The Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force and the Jersey City Fire Department are investigating a four-alarm fire that occurred on Friday, November 8, 2024.

Yesterday’s fire, according to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, broke out shortly before 11 p.m.   The Jersey City Fire Department was notified that a fire was underway at 3507 Kennedy Boulevard, in the Heights near South Street.   When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke and fire coming from the building.   At this time, it is believed that the blaze originated in a ground level business.  Prosecutor Suarez says the fire quickly spread to adjacent residential units.

Two firefighters did suffer minor injuries.   They were treated at the Jersey City Medical Center.   Unfortunately, 26 residents were displaced.

This remains an ongoing story as the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force and the Jersey City Fire Department.

Officials ask anyone with information is to contact the Prosecutor’s Office at 201-915-1345 or to leave a tip at: http://www.hudsoncountyprosecutorsofficenj.org/homicide-tip/.
