As Hudson County Lags Behind, Congressman Sires & North Hudson Mayors Urge People To Get COVID Vaccine

On Monday, May 3, Rep. Albio Sires (D – District 8), accompanied by Mayors and several elected officials from North Hudson, held a press conference in front of Union City High School.  An alarmingly high number of residents across Hudson County have yet to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, drawing major concerns from the Congressman, the elected officials on hand and residents.  The municipal representatives strongly urged all residents to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

The fight to return the world to some sense of normalcy was the driving factor in Monday’s press conference.  As places are beginning to open back up and COVID-q9 regulations are loosening, getting vaccinated seems to be as important now as ever.

As Congressman Sires stated, “Hudson County is an area of diverse population, thus adding more emphasis and urgency to the people of the County specifically.”  Applause was met at the culmination of the event, perhaps implying that the message was read lous and clear.
