Authorities Search For Vehicle Which Struck & Killed Cyclist in Union City

As Hudson TV was first to report last night, witnesses say a vehicle struck and killed a man near the intersection of 48th Street and Bergenline Avenue in Union City and fled the scene.  Sources told Hudson TV at approximately 8 pm that the hit-and-run left a man lying in the street.  The location is right by the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Transit Station.

At 7:48 this morning, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office tweeted that an investigation is underway after a male cyclist was hit and killed at approximately 7:45 last night.  The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Union City Police are investigating the hit-and-run.

Sources told Hudson TV last night that the vehicle is a White Nissan Rogue, but that information has yet to be confirmed by the Prosecutor’s Office or the UCPD.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
