The Bayonne Office of Emergency Management has announced that the Bayonne Medical Center has reinstated the drive-thru, COVID testing site at the Bayonne Medical Center. Currently, patients with a prescription and an appointment are being tested inside their vehicles. The testing takes place at the Emergency Room Driveway entrance.
The testing takes place every morning between 9:30 and 12-noon.
Currently, twelve Bayonne residents are admitted to the Bayonne Medical Center due to the coronavirus.
Mayor Jimmy Davis reports that a 69-year old woman who tested positive for the virus has passed away. As of today, there are 178 resident of the Peninsula City who are COVID-19 positive. Since the start of the pandemic last spring, 2,012 residents of Bayonne have contracted the coronavirus. 82 of these people have died. 1,752 residents have recovered.
