Shortly before 9 o’clock last night, Bayonne Police Captain Eric Amato reports that a 27-year old man was assaulted and robbed of his wallet. The incident took place on West 20th Street when an unknown male approached the victim from behind.
Captain Amato says the victim was punched in the chest and fell to the ground. The assailant took the victim’s wallet containing cash and ID. He then fled.
The victim refused medical attention.
Thursday’s incident is under investigation.
