Photo Credit: Bayonne Police Dept. Members of the Bayonne Police Department and the community at large are mourning the passing of a beloved, retired member of the force, K-9 Rocco. Rocco was a member of the Police K-9 Unit for nine years before his retirement in 2020.

Bayonne Police Chief Robert Geisler stated, “Today is a sad day at the Bayonne Police Department as we say goodbye to K9 Rocco. K9 Rocco worked hard everyday to keep our officers and our community safe. K9 Rocco was assigned to Sgt. Urbanowicz and he was much more than a member of the Bayonne Police Department he was also part of the Urbanowicz Family. Our thoughts are with the entire Urbanowicz Family today. Thank you K9 Rocco for your loyalty and dedication to this department. You will be missed.”
