Bayonne to Hold Hearing on Community Development

Block Grant on Thursday, January 9

Mayor Jimmy Davis announced that the City of Bayonne proposes to

initiate planning for the Fiscal Year 2020-2025 Community Development Block

Grant (CDBG) Five Year Consolidated Plan and the 2020 Annual Action Plan.

The CDBG Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban

Development (HUD).

                                                                                                                                            A public hearing is being held to receive community

input toward the development of the Consolidated Plan and Annual Plan. The

public hearing will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2020,

in the Council Chambers, Bayonne City Hall, 630 Avenue C.

The hearing will address housing, community and economic

development needs, development of proposed activities, and review of

program performance. During the hearing, information will be made

available regarding application procedures, timing, eligible activities, and

other regulations related to the Community Development program.

Bayonne’s Community Development Block Grant allocation for Fiscal

Year 2020 is estimated to be $1,400,000.

                                                                                                                                         The City’s proposed plan allocates funding for housing rehabilitation, improvements to public facilities, and support for public services that benefit low- and moderate-income residents, seniors, and disabled adults.

In addition to verbal comments at the public hearing, interested

persons are invited to submit written comments at or prior to the hearing.

comments received by May 15, 2020 will be considered.
