Bayonne To Host Super Soccer
Bayonne will be brimming with excitement and fervor on Saturday, August 26th as the Bayonne High School Boys Soccer Program hosts its second, Super Saturday. Local soccer enthusiasts and fans from neighboring communities will gather for an unforgettable event, running from 12:00 noon until 6:00 pm at Don Ahern Veterans Memorial Stadium. The stadium is located by Newark Bay near the foot of West 25th Street.
Bayonne Super Soccer Saturday is an extraordinary day showcasing a series of exhilarating matches that will have everyone on the edge of their seats, celebrating the spirit of competition and camaraderie. From stunning goals to nail-biting finishes, the Bayonne Super Soccer Saturday is a true testament to the passion and skill that soccer brings to the community.
The Bayonne Super Soccer Saturday will feature a lineup of matches that will leave fans enthralled and athletes exhilarated.
The event will include several soccer drills showcasing the talent of current BHS Soccer Players, BHS Alumni Players, the School of Soccer Academy, and members of Bayonne Youth Soccer Association (BYSA) Travel Teams: Boys under 9, Boys under 10, Boys under 12, Boys under 14 and Boys under 19. Girls under 9, Girls under 10, Girls under 11, Girls under 12, Girls under 13, Girls under 19, and Girls under 23.
One of the highlights of the afternoon will be the Bayonne High School Alumni Game which will feature Team Arszulowicz vs. Team Breyan. The teams are named after two pioneering Bayonne High School coaches. Ray Arszulowicz initiated the Girls Soccer Program and served as Girls Soccer Coach for many years. He also served as a Boys Soccer Assistant Coach
Jim Breyan was an early Bayonne High School Boys Soccer Coach. Under his leadership, the Boys Soccer Program gained notoriety on both the County and State levels.
More than just a series of matches, the Bayonne Super Soccer Saturday underscored the significance of sports in fostering community bonds and camaraderie. Families, friends, and even newcomers to the city will find common ground as they cheer for their favorite teams.
Super Soccer Saturday will also feature prizes, concessions, contests, food trucks, raffles, face painting, and many games of chance in different sports and more. All proceeds will benefit the Bayonne High School Soccer Boys Program.
The event is being hosted by SPORT-BHS, the BHS Boys Parents Booster Group. Club President Jim Mock said, “We would like to encourage the entire Bayonne community to join us for our second annual day of Super Soccer and Fun on Saturday, August 26. We look forward to bringing together current and former players from BHS and the BYSA, along with soccer fans from our community. Come join us to support all our great soccer residents.
Mr. Mock continued, “Our mission for this event is evident in our slogan, Bringing Bayonne Together.” Having a day of occur showcasing the many Teams that represent Bayonne will hopefully increase the support for our High School Program as well as the feeder programs that prepare these young athletes.
