The annual Bayonne Urban Enterprise Zone/Special Improvement District Christmas Tree Lighting is set for Tuesday, November 25th at 5:30 pm. Mayor Jimmy Davis said in a statement, “This special ceremony will show the Bayonne community’s engagement and promote awareness of our amazing businesses.” UEZ Coordinator Jacqueline Farber added, “As the holiday season approaches, the UEZ is happy to remind everyone that Bayonne is a wonderful place to shop and work.”
Located at Lance Corporal Stanley Kopcinski Park and on Broadway from 19th to 21st Streets, this year’s tree lighting will begin with live musical performances from The Artists’ Avenue, the Bayonne High School Jazz Band, the Kids’ Piano Studio, and the Robinson School Band. The concert will culminate with the arrival of Santa to light the tree. Free photos with Santa by Stephanie Petersen Photography will be taken until 7:00 p.m. The photos will be made available on the Bayonne UEZ Facebook page for retrieval. Santa will provide each child with a gift, thanks to the generosity of Second Ward Councilwoman Jacqueline Weimmer.
There will be free cocoa and cookies from Double Batch Bakery throughout the event, while supplies last, as well as free trackless train trips, and rides on a mechanical reindeer.
Everyone is reminded to pick up the Bayonne UEZ’s 2025 Holiday Gift Guide to help you find the perfect present on your list in Bayonne.
Kopcinski Park is an outdoor special events space that is located on Broadway, in front of the 19 East apartment building. A stage will be set up across Broadway from the park. For the ceremony, Broadway will be closed to traffic from 19th Street (Vinny Bottino Way) to 20th Street. No Parking signs will be posted from 19th Street to 20th Street on both sides of Broadway.
