The Jersey City Fire Department is currently on the scene at an old, PSE&G plant on Duffield Avenue, just to the east of the Hackensack River. Details are sketchy at the moment, but Jersey City spokesperson Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione told Hudson TV in a text message, that “the metal construction facility is in the process of being demolished.”
Unconfirmed reports indicate that the fire was at two alarms shortly before 12:30 this afternoon and that Jersey City had requested fire boats from both Carteret and Newark.
As of 1:30 pm, Wallace-Scalcione did not confirm if any injuries had occurred. or provide Hudson TV with any other information.
