Changes Announced To Mayor Santos’ Kearny Council Slate

Kearny Mayor Alberto Santos has announced two changes to his Council ticket for the upcoming election.  The Mayor announced on Monday that incumbents will not be seeking re-election.  They are 1st Ward Councilman Albino Cardoso and 4th Ward Councilwoman Susan McCurrie.

Replacing Cardoso as 1st Ward candidate is George Zapata, the current Vice President of the Kearny Board of Education.  He also serves as a Utilities Authority Commissioner.

Joining Santos’ ticket as 4th Ward Council candidate replacing McCurrie is Stathis Theodoropoulos, a local businessman and member of the New Jersey Hellenic Heritage Commission.
