Collision Unit Investigating Saturday Hit-and-Run in Guttenberg Which Critically Injures Pedestrian

Another hit-and-run accident in Hudson County has left a pedestrian in critical condition.  According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Guttenberg Police Department are investigating a hit-and-run that critically injured a pedestrian on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

Suarez says, just after 2:10 a.m., the Guttenberg Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of Park Avenue and 70th Street. Responding police officers located a 28-year-old man with life- threatening injuries. The striking vehicle did not remain at the scene. The victim was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center, where he remains in critical, but stable condition.

The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Guttenberg Police Department are actively investigating the circumstances of this matter.
