The Hudson County Board of Commissioners has approved an application for a $600,000 grant, if awarded, from the New Jersey Transit’s Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) and American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Grant.

The grant money will be used for operating assistance and mobility management projects.

The target populations who will benefit from these funds are people 60 years or older, as well as disabled individuals living in Hudson County. The funds will also provide support to continue transportation services in the event of a new rise in Coronavirus cases and or other emergencies.

Board Chairman Anthony Romano says the Board of Commissioners are committed in their resolve in providing the necessary resources needed to provide transportation services to seniors and individuals with disabilities.

  1. This is a misuse of funds, $600,000 for transportation for the seniors and other disabled individuals really. How about spreading those funds with organizations aimed at helping our Hudson County Youth, now there’s an emergency for the county commissioners to look at.
