Craig Guy, Chief of Staff to retiring Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise, cruised his way to victory in the Democratic Primary election on Tuesday, defeating challenger Eleana Little, the Progressive Democratic candidate, winning with a total of 77.8% of the vote to Little’s 22% in the preliminary results.  Guy had the full support of the Hudson County Democratic Organization.

Guy received nearly 28,500 votes.  Little tallied just over 8,000 votes.

Less than 11% of the 398,190 registered voters cast ballots.

No Republican was on the Primary ballot for County Executive and no Independent candidates filed by yesterday’s deadline.

Guy now has a clear path to the County Executive’s Office in the November General Election, unless an unprecedented write-in campaign takes place, which effectively would make history.  So, come January 2024, Hudson County’s new Executive will be Craig Guy.
