JERSEY CITY, NJ – Hudson County Executive candidate Craig Guy has received a major endorsement from the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) of New Jersey, as well as the Jersey City FOP Lodge 4. Both the statewide and local police organizations have endorsed Guy, citing his extensive experience as a police officer and his commitment to public safety and supporting law enforcement in government.
As the largest organization of police and law enforcement in the state, the FOP is committed to advocating for those who serve through education, community involvement, and legislation. The FOP NJ President Bob Fox praised Guy’s dedication and experience as a public servant and a retired law enforcement officer.
Guy’s experience and expertise as a police officer have earned him the endorsements of the Jersey City FOP Lodge 4, which represents hundreds of local officers, and the Jersey City FOP Lodge 7.
Detective Joe Vesey, FOP Lodge 4 President, praised Guy’s on-the-ground perspective and dedication to law enforcement, saying that he is the ideal candidate for Hudson County. Sgt. Robert Vogt, FOP Lodge 4 former President, also endorsed Guy and said that he will be a champion for Hudson County and will work tirelessly to keep communities safe.
Craig Guy has been previously endorsed by leading Democratic elected officials, including Governor Phil Murphy, Senator Bob Menendez, Senator Cory Booker, and all 12 of Hudson County’s Mayors.
Guy expressed his appreciation for the FOP’s endorsement, saying that throughout his career, he has been dedicated to uplifting Hudson County’s law enforcement officers, ensuring that they have the resources, training, and support they need to keep communities safe. He pledged to continue this work as County Executive, working with law enforcement communities, including members of the new police academy, and Lodge 4 to achieve this goal.
As a proud Democrat, Guy has the experience and vision to solve Hudson County’s greatest challenges and make communities more affordable for the middle class and working families. He has served as Chief of Staff to County Executive Tom DeGise, where he has led major projects such as creating the Open Space Trust Fund, expanding Hudson County Community College, and providing rental assistance and small business grants during the pandemic.
Under Guy’s leadership, Hudson County will move forward with progressive values such as protecting abortion rights and voting rights, defending democracy, enacting tougher gun control laws, and creating more affordable housing, improving traffic safety with a Vision Zero initiative, and building new state-of-the-art STEM and trades-focused high schools.
