Photo Credit: Gppgle Maps At approximately 12:15 pm on Thursday, December 29th, laborers from a demolition team discovered a deceased man on the second-floor of a residence under demolition.
According to Jersey City spokesperson Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione, the structure, located at 10 Irving Street, had not been occupied since suffering heavy damage in a fire in August of 2021.
In an email to Hudson TV Wallace-Scalcione stated, “Demolition ceased immediately upon the discovery and members of the Jersey City Fire Department used their equipment to safely gain access to the structure and to remove the body.”
As of today, the cause of death does not appear suspicious.
A month earlier, on November 28, 2022, the body of a 57-year old man was found at a construction site on Charles Street.
