Despite Key Endorsements, Independently Together Slate Loses Bid for Hoboken Council Seat

Despite endorsements from Hoboken at Large council members, Tiffanie Fisher and Jennifer Giattino, representing the 2nd and 6th wards respectively, the Independently Together ticket featuring Cheryl Fallick – 9h, Sheila Brennan – 10h, and Paul Presinzano – 11h fell short as candidates Joe Quintero, Jim Doyle, and Emily Jabbour, all running alongside Mayor Ravi Bhalla, took all 3 spots in a clean sweep by a nearly 2-1 vote margin.

The Independently Together slate ran on the platform working together in order to advance policies through discussion and debate, with independent voices being needed in order to shift the conversation and accomplish important new goals as well as those that the current administration and city council have been unable to address.

While the main goal was ultimately to outright win the election, the focus for the Independently Together slate was more towards forcing a run off; an uphill battle that proved to be too much on its own as the results began to come back.
