While most New Jerseyans received federal stimulus checks during the height of the COVID pandemic, some did not. There is a way, however, for those individuals and families to receive a one-time, cash payment from the state of New Jersey, but you have to act quickly.
The deadline to apply for the Excluded New Jerseyans Fund is February 28. Assemblywoman Angelica Jimenez, the Chairperson of the Human Services Committee, spoke with reporter Jeff Henig about the fund and its qualifications.
The fund has $40 million available to be distributed to families and individuals who qualify. The four criteria are as follows:
- You must be a New Jersey resident
- You must be at least 18 years of age
- You have not received stimulus money or COVID-related unemployment assistance
- And you earn less than $55,000 annually
To file an application to see whether you qualify, log onto www.nj.gov/humanservices/excludednjfund. If you need additional assistance, you can email Assemblywoman Jimenez’s office at email@example.com.
