Hoboken residents and businesses should be aware that, beginning on Monday, November 13, the Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority (JCMUA) will be conducting maintenance along its Aqueduct. The Aqueduct supplies water to the city of Hoboken.
According to Hoboken officials, there is the potential for minor, water discoloration during the upgrade work due to the stirring up of sediment within the system. Officials say that water discoloration would not represent any contamination.
Veolia is working with the JCMUA to diminish the possibility of water discoloration. Teams from the utility will be monitoring the water quality throughout the JCMUA upgrade. If customers encounter discolored water in their home or business, they should flush cold water taps until the water runs clear. You can then resume normal use.
This work will take place over two, three-day periods during the weeks of November 13 and November 27.
