Students in grades two through twelve demonstrated their musical talents at the Performing Arts Center in Union City High School on Tuesday night.
It was the first-ever, night time, District Music Showcase featuring approximately 300 students and ten teachers from schools throughout the city. The event replaces the old, Multi-Arts Festival, which was held during school hours for years. That, however, prevented parents from attending. Now, they can attend this free showcase to witness their children performing what they have been learning in the classroom.
The Performing Arts Center was filled to the rafters, as several hundred parents attended the showcase. There were solo acts, choir and band performances and much more for the audience to enjoy.
Tuesday night’s showcase lasted about two hours.
The evening was hosted by the Union City Board of Education’s Visual and Performing Arts.
