Double Homicide in Paterson Under Investigation

DOUBLE HOMICIDE AT 455 TOTOWA AVENUE IN PATERSON

Following three separate shootings over the past 24 hours in Paterson, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and the Paterson Police Department released the following information this afternoon concerning a double stabbing homicide early this morning:

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora have announced that approximately 4:19 a.m. on Monday, July 5, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to 455 Totowa Avenue in Paterson in response to a report of a stabbing. Upon their arrival, officers located Jaime Hernandez, 44-years-old and Johnny Jimenez, 36-years-old, both from Paterson, lying in the parking lot of 430 Totowa Avenue with apparent stab wounds. Paterson Fire Department personnel made attempts to revive the victims without success. Mr. Hernandez and Mr. Jimenez succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
