Early Saturday Morning Shooting In Paterson

SHOOTING IN AREA OF MADISON AVENUE BETWEEN 21st AVENUE AND GETTY AVENUE IN PATERSON

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora have announced that at approximately 2:54 a.m. this morning, members of the Paterson Police Department were advised that a 23-year-old female Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania resident arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound.

Based on the initial investigation, the victim was a passenger in a motor vehicle traveling on Madison Avenue, crossing Route 80, when the vehicle was struck by gunfire.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
