Earth Day Is Celebrated In Braddock Park

If we want to protect our environment, change is up to us.  That was the theme of this year’s Earth Day Fair sponsored by the Hudson County Improvement Authority held in North Bergen’s James J. Braddock Park.  The event was attended by adults and children who learned about recycling, composting and so many other things designed to teach us ways we can keep our planet healthy and clean.

The event was attended by adults and children who learned about recycling, composting and so many other things designed to teach us ways we can keep our planet healthy and clean.  Numerous county agencies distributed literature and discussed how to improve the environment.  Among those in attendance were the Hudson County Sheriff’s Department, the Hudson County Schools of Technology, various departments from North Bergen Town Hall and Hudson County Community College.

There were many children’s activities at the fair, including bouncy houses, a train ride and live animals, including goats, chickens and sheep.  There was even one of the HCIA’s electric cars on display.

The HCIA Earth Day Fair will continue next Saturday, April 22, the national observance of Earth Day, at Lincoln Park in Jersey City between 11 am and 3 pm.
