Officials at the Hudson County Office of Emergency Management are warning residents that the entire region is going to experience a massive amount of rain, with severe flooding in parts of the County, once Tropical Storm / Hurricane Isaias arrives on Tuesday.
The OEM sent out a text this afternoon stating that a flash flood watch is in effect. The Tuesday storm rainfall total is forecast to be between three and six inches, with the heaviest rain and the most widespread flooding likely to occur between 12-noon on Tuesday and 2 a.m. on Wednesday.
Officials in many local municipalities encouraging people to stay off of the roads during this time. Some municipalities have put driving bans in place, except for emergency vehicles and essential workers.
Winds are likely to reach upwards of 50 to 60 MPH.
