Flood Watch Issued For Hudson County, Including Hoboken

Today the National Weather Service issued a flood watch for low-lying areas of Hudson County, including Hoboken.  The advisory is in effect from Sunday night through Monday morning.

2 to 3 inches of rainfall is likely, with locally higher amounts possible. Due to heavy rain overnight, flooding is possible in low-lying areas, particularly during high tide, which is at approximately 6:41 p.m. on Sunday.

In Hoboken, the Office of Emergency Management reminds residents to avoid flood-prone areas. Intense rainfall of greater than 0.8 inch per hour could result in flooding in low-lying areas. Barricades have been deployed near flood-prone intersections. Do not walk or drive through barricades or flooded areas. 
 
Hudson County residents are asked to report flooded intersections and clogged drain inlets by calling the North Hudson Sewerage Authority Hotline at (866) 689-3970.

Wind gusts of up to 30 MPH are likely to occur in Hoboken according to the NWS.   Downed tree limbs and power lines are a possibility.  Please report power outages and downed wires to PSEG at https://nj.myaccount.pseg.com/myservicepublic/outagepublic.
