Freezing Rain Leads to Black Ice & Motor Vehicle Accidents

Freezing rain overnight in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut have made for a treacherous morning commute in the metropolitan area.  In Hudson County there have been reports of motor vehicle accidents on the Pulaski Skyway, Route 3, Tonnelle Avenue and on many roads and streets countywide.  North Bergen’s hilly streets are a prime location for car mishaps.

Even though temperatures are slowly rising above freezing, you should still use extreme caution if you must drive, as black ice conditions still exist.

If you don’t have to drive, don’t, at least until later today.  Weather forecasters are predicting Hudson County could see its first significant snowfall come Friday.

Be safe.  Be smart.  Buckle up.
