Funeral Arrangements Announced For Harrison Police Sgt. Ernesto Hernandez

51-year old, Harrison Police Sgt. Ernesto “Ernie” Hernandez of Kearny passed away on February 10 after a valiant battle with cancer.  Hernandez was a 23-year member of the Department.

Relatives and friends are invited to attended a visitation to express their sympathies to the Hernandez family tomorrow, Monday, February 14, between 2 and 4 pm and 7 and 9 pm at the  Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, located at 596 Belgrove Drive in Kearny.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Tuesday at Holy Cross Church in Harrison.  Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Sgt. Hernandez started his career with the Newark Police Department before transferring to the Harrison Police Department where he served as a Patrolman, Detective, Task Force Officer with Hudson County Prosecutors Office (Narcotics Unit) and ultimately was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
