GoFundMe Pages Set Up For Family of 2 Children Killed in Tragic Fire

The hearts of the Jersey City community are opening up to help the family of a sister and brother tragically killed in a one-alarm fire earlier this week.  The Jersey City Education Association has created a Memorial Go Fund Me page, organized by Kristen Hart on behalf of Ronald Greco, to raise money for the family of 11-year old Desire Reid and her eight month old brother Keyon Robinson.

The children died when the fire broke out on Wednesday night inside their apartment at 470 Martin Luther King Drive in the Bergen-Lafayette section of Jersey City.  In a little over thirteen hours since the JCEA Go Fund Me page was created on Thursday, more than $6,000 of the $20,000 goal has been raised.

A second Go Fund Me page, the Reid and Robinson Memorial, organized by Frances Wright, has raised nearly $3,500 of the $80,000 goal.  All proceeds raised will go directly to the family for funeral arrangements and to help Angela Reid, Desire and Keyon’s mother, and her surviving son Aamil, with clothing, shelter and emergency assistance.
