HCST’s High Tech High School holds Virtual Career Day

On Friday, February 26th, 2021, High Tech held a Virtual Career Day event for all students.  By tapping into their supportive HCST community, they were able to offer students the opportunity to hear from over 50 industry professionals spanning numerous career areas, including healthcare, science, architecture and design, marketing, performing arts, entertainment, and more! The sessions varied in style and substance and provided an overview of the field and the position’s daily realities.

The day consisted of five presentation time slots.  Each presentation lasted 30-40 minutes with an additional 10 minutes allotted for Question & Answer.

The HCST Technology department, in conjunction with the High Tech administration, developed a website for the event. This website provides headshots, biographies, and contact info for each presenter. CLICK HERE for information about the presenters. The goal was to provide an opportunity for interested students to learn more about the pathways they might take to a fruitful and satisfying career in whatever field they chose.

“As a career and technical education (CTE) school district, our collective mission is to prepare students to be professionals. We attempt to give them the tools and skills relevant to their anticipated career clusters, and we provide them with as many learning experiences on the job as feasible. Still, there is nothing like learning about a career from an established local professional. Your participation on February 26th served as a real-life example of professionalism and philanthropy, two traits that are essential for our students now and in the future.” Principal Joseph Giammarella said.
