High Tech High School senior Kaitlyn Pak is heading to Bulgaria to represent the USA Junior Women’s Saber Fencing Team in the Cadet and Junior World Championships. Pak, who has been fencing for a decade, is majoring in Design and Fabrication and is dedicated to maintaining her outstanding academic performance in addition to excelling at her sport.
“I always try to remind myself of my love of the sport and the incredible life experience,” said Kaitlyn Pak about her passion for fencing.
Pak’s athletic achievements are a testament to her inner drive, passion, and determination, according to Kathy Young, HTHS Principal. “True champions are not just physically strong, but also mentally and emotionally resilient. It takes a deep-seated desire, a dream, and a vision to achieve this balance, and Kaitlyn embodies these qualities.”
In addition to competing in the Cadet and Junior World Championships, Pak has her sights set on qualifying for Olympic Qualifiers leading up to the 2024 Summer Games. She will also continue her fencing career on Harvard University’s team, where she has already been accepted and will attend in the fall.
Kaitlyn Pak is a shining example of how dedication and hard work can pay off, both academically and athletically. We wish her all the best as she represents the USA at the Cadet and Junior World Championships and pursues her dream of competing in the Olympics.
