Hoboken Advises Drivers To Plan Ahead, Major Construction Projects To Close Streets

Anyone driving in the Mile Square City next week should be advised that construction is going to impact traffic and cause numerous delays.  The city, the Office of Emergency Management and local police are asking motorists to plan ahead and adhere to all, posted parking and detour signs.

Here’s a run down of the week’s construction projects and related street closures:

On Monday, July 3, Hudson County will close Paterson Plank Road in both directions from 9 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. between Marshall Street in Hoboken and Congress Street in Jersey City. Please plan alternate routes. New Jersey Transit will re-route buses during this construction related closure.

On Monday, July 3, Clinton Street will be closed for resurfacing between 14th and 15th Streets from 8 a.m. through 6 p.m.. No parking is permitted during the work.

On Wednesday, July 5, Hudson County will close Paterson Plank Road in both directions from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. between Marshall Street in Hoboken and Congress Street in Jersey City. Please plan alternate routes. New Jersey Transit will re-route buses during this construction related closure.

At 8 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, Hudson County will close Newark Street between Hudson and Washington Streets for construction for 24 hours a day. This construction related closure is scheduled to last through Friday, July 7. “No Parking” signs are posted. Please plan alternate routes.

From Wednesday, July 5, through Friday, July 7, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., Marin Boulevard will be closed between Observer Highway in Hoboken and 18th Street in Jersey City. No parking will be permitted, detours will be in place, and police will be on site for traffic management.
