On Wednesday morning, the city of Hoboken celebrated the grand opening of the newly expanded Southwest pop-up park, with a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla. Mayor Bhalla was joined by former Mayor Dawn Zimmer, and members of the community, to unveil the city’s latest form of enjoyment for residents. The new park offers basketball and pickleball courts, a playground, shading along with picnic tables, and more.
The pop-up park will provide fun for the city, while they still work towards the final design of the permanent park. This new location can be found on Harrison Street, and Observer Highway. With the city’s efforts in putting this together, they have surely created another way to further bond the communities within Hoboken..
