NJ Transit is adding two additional bus stops along the #126 route in Hoboken. Mayor Ravi Bhalla made the announcement on Thursday.
New bus stops are being added on Clinton Street at 5th Street and between 7th and 8th Streets. The stop at the corner of Clinton and 6th Street will be eliminated.
According to the Mayor, the changes will add rider “capacity during rush hour & reduce lines that were previously routine at 6th/Clinton stop. Together, these changes will also help increase efficiencies in service as buses travel uptown where there is also overcrowding, reducing wait times as well.”
In addition, NJ Transit has announced that it is adding a bus stop at the corner of Willow Avenue and 2nd Street.
Earlier this year, the bus company announced it was adding more dedicated, articulated buses to the #126 route. Bhalla added, “We are continuing to partner with NJ Transit on real, concrete transportation improvements, and facilitate additional room for social distancing.”
The additional bus stops will be activated in the fall.
