REMINDER: Resilient Buildings Workshop is Tonight
Residents can still register for the virtual Resilient Buildings Workshop tonight, October 13 at 6:30 p.m. The workshop will provide information on how residents can protect their buildings from flood damage and lower their flood insurance rates.
This virtual workshop will begin with a presentation from North Hudson Sewerage Authority regarding how they prepare for and respond to rainfall events, followed by a series of break-out sessions with vendors and engineers to discuss resilient building strategies.
Attendees must register for the Resilient Buildings Workshop at www.hobokennj.gov/resilientbuildingsworkshop. After registering, attendees will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
Community Meeting to be Held on 9 Paterson Avenue
On Thursday, October 14, at 6:30 pm, the City will host a virtual community meeting regarding a proposed redevelopment in the Southwest Rehabilitation Area, Subarea F, at 9 Paterson Ave., also known as 61 Jackson St.
The project architect and development team will present the project and answer questions from members of the public. No action will be taken by the governing body.
The project site is a triangular lot bounded by Paterson Avenue, Observer Highway, and Jackson Street that contains the one-story G. Millz Boken Roadhouse restaurant (formerly Jack’s Cabin). The proposed redevelopment would include a 2,330 square foot ground floor commercial space facing the Southwest Park and eight residential units on five upper stories.

Sign up for the HoBOOken 5K race
Registration is open for the HoBOOKen 5k race scheduled for Saturday, October 30, at Pier A at 10 am. The race benefits the Hoboken Shelter, which serves 530 meals daily, hosts 1,000 showers weekly, and shelters 50 people nightly.
A virtual race option is also available.
