Hoboken Offering COVID-19 Tests to City Residents

Prompt MD is offering COVID-19 testing in partnership with the City of Hoboken at the pop-up site at 605 Jackson Street on Monday, September 21 between 8 am and 3 pm on a first-come, first-serve basis for Hoboken residents. To schedule an appointment, please visit http://www.hobokennj.gov/promptmd with a government identification indicating a Hoboken address, along with an insurance card. If booking a COVID-19 test for a child, please fill in the child’s name along with the parent or guardian’s insurance and contact information.

Riverside Medical is also continuing testing for Hoboken residents at the pop-up site under the 14th Street Viaduct. Appointments can be scheduled with Riverside by calling the CERT hotline at 201-420-5621 Monday through Friday, 9 am until 1 pm.

Residents are asked to keep in mind that a COVID-19 test is recommended at least 5-7 days after a potential exposure, and that many who have contracted the virus do not have symptoms. Receiving a COVID-19 test prior to the 5-7 days after a potential exposure may yield inaccurate results. Residents are asked to quarantine until after receiving the test result. If returning from a state on New Jersey’s quarantine list or have had a high-risk exposure, such as a large indoor group gathering, residents should self-quarantine for the full 14 days, even with a negative test result.

Results are anticipated through both the Riverside and Prompt MD testing sites within 3 days of testing, although delays could be possible. If a resident does not have insurance, the City will pay for the cost of a test through both testing sites. Residents obtaining COVID-19 tests at other testing sites or medical facilities are responsible for the cost of those tests.
