The Port Authority has announced that the Hoboken PATH station will be closed this weekend in order to complete “essential” signal maintenance work in the station and in the adjoining tunnels.
The station will close beginning at 12:01 am on Saturday, January 18 and remain out of service until it reopens on Monday morning, January 20 at 5 o’clock. As a result, the World Trade Center PATH station, which is scheduled to be closed on most weekends during 20020 for Superstorm Sandy-related maintenance work, will be open this weekend. The Journal Square-33rd Street PATH line will operate on its normal, weekend schedule.
While the Hoboken PATH station is closed, commuters are advised that the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail system will be cross-honoring those affected PATH riders at the Hoboken, Exchange Place and Newport stations.
Passengers should plan their travel accordingly.
