Hoboken PD arrest Union City man for Burglary and Theft

On 01/26/20, at about 4:47 PM, Det. Adam Colon and Det. John Quinones were traveling westbound on Observer Highway in an unmarked radio car when they observed a male peering into the lobby area of a residential building. The building was located in the area of Observer Hwy and Madison Street. The detectives also noticed the male was carrying an empty green Shoprite bag. Det. Colon and Det. Quinones parked their unmarked vehicle and approached the residential building. The male they were observing was no longer on the outside. So they walked towards the entrance and it was at this time they found the male now identified as Eduardo Cruz exiting with a full Shoprite bag. On scene investigation revealed that Cruz was in possession of a stolen package addressed to the building he just exited. Cruz was charged with Burglary and Theft. These charges were placed on a warrant and Cruz was taken to the Hudson County Jail.
