Hoboken Police Arrest 17-Year Old Male in Possession of Stolen Colorado Handgun

A 17-year old male was arrested last night by Hoboken Police at 351 Observer Highway and found to be in possession of a stolen handgun, registered in Colorado.

According to Detective Lieutenant Danilo Cabrera, the arrest took place just after 8 pm. when Police Officer Nicholas Protopapadakis, Police Officer Francis McCourt and Police Officer Anthony Olivera stopped the juvenile for investigation. The police noticed the juvenile had a bulge in his back pocket.

During their investigation, the juvenile was found to be in possession of a handgun reportedly stolen out of Colorado. The juvenile was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. The juvenile’s parent was contacted and notified of his arrest. The juvenile was charged with the delinquent act of unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of firearm for unlawful purpose, receiving stolen property, and obstruction administration of law. The charges were placed on a warrant and he was remained to juvenile intake.

Cabrera says the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
