The Hoboken Police Department has announced vacancies for the position of Police Officer. The recruitment process began on March 1st and will continue until March 31st, 2023. The position is open to residents of Hoboken City, Hudson County, New Jersey.
The successful candidate for this position will need to meet several requirements, including a high school diploma or an equivalent certificate and a valid driver’s license. Applicants must also be citizens of the United States and not less than 18 nor more than 35 years of age at the announced closing date for filing applications for the position. In determining maximum age eligibility of veterans, the time spent in active military service during periods specified in Civil Service Commission law and rules will be deducted from the attained age.
Additionally, appointees will be required to successfully complete a training program mandated by the New Jersey Police Training Commission within 18 months of appointment. The appointee must pass a thorough medical and psychiatric examination to be administered by the appointing authority.
The job advertisement also mentions that applications must be completed and submitted by 4:00 p.m. on the closing date. Any application received after this time will not be considered. Applicants should also note that an application fee of $35 is required.
