Details are not fully known at this time, but Hoboken Police say a man voluntarily entered the Hudson River off of Pier C at 4:09 pm today. Police say more details will not be released until the man’s family is notified.
What is known is that the man’s body was recovered from the river just past 5 o’clock after life saving efforts were unsuccessful.
A tweet from the Hoboken Police Department stated that Hoboken Police, Hoboken Fire, the New York City Police Harbor Patrol, Hudson Regional Fire Rescue and the Coast Guard were all on the scene attempting to rescue the man. The Hoboken EMS was also on scene.
